Structures and Artifacts
The "gift" that Osiris gave to Isis was the throne
that is Isis' attribute which appears on her head.
The throne is based on the proportions (3-4-5) of
the Osiris Triangle (also known as the Pythagorean
Triangle). The proportions of the "Receptacle" are
the same as those of the Parthenon: the Root 5
rectangle. A plan of the Parthenon therefore appears
on the floor. The appearance is that of an Egyptian
sarcophagus. A didactic image appears on each end
displaying the module used in creating each of the
patterns. On the rim appear dowels, ostensibly to
facilitate the closing of the lid, arranged according
to the Golden or Fibonacci scale in groups from 1
through 8. Burial as a symbolic act in which an
individual death is woven into the all-embracing
context of unending earthly and cosmic processes
is as old as culture. |
